Today I finally reached a scene I have been anticipating writing for over four years. I merely say “four” because I am bad at math and the last time I modified the old draft, it was 2022. I am pretty sure it would come closer to six or seven years in reality, though.
Long story short, I wrote the drafts of book one and two of my series back in high school, decided I didn’t like them, then commited myself to rewriting them both from scratch with the skills I learned. I am finally at the finish line of that goal. This planned four book series is near the midpoint. I have just completed the climax chapter and all I have left is the conclusion. I am totally thrilled.
To celebrate, I have compiled the original version of the scene with the loosely-edited rewrite I finished today. Be warned, my old writing was…not great. It was high school! Give me a break!
